My Weekend Adventure

We loaded up Saturday morning for our big weekend adventure.
Are we there yet?
Oh I don't know how to ski.

Well the good news is that the camp was just named ski lodge, no skiing required.  The bad news was it was so cold outside I stayed inside almost the whole time.  The whole family was there (Cousin Diesel & Bambi included).
I guess the staying inside wasn't so bad, the camp had couches.  And there was always a hooman that stayed inside wif us. But, what were the other hoomans doing?  Well, that crazy ice fishing thing we did last year (see that adventure here.)  However, it was a double over night trip this time and much colder than last year!

Diesel and I did get to go out once just to see what was going on, but we had to go back in before 30 minutes.  We were styling in our coats and boots.
Dis is the lake from the view of the Cabin.  It looks really scary wif the open water but that is only because there is Dam next to it causing all kinds of currents in the water.  To the right you can see all the ice.  It was about 10-12 inches of ice on the lake.

Oh and yes the hoomans caught fishies, but I missed them all cause I was inside.  Momma was wif me most of the time but she did get to see Dad's big fish.....
This is a Togue or a Lake Trout.  It was 23" in length and Dad kept it for my Uncle to eats because it was the biggest fish of the trip.  The Warden service came by and gots it's official measurement and weight.  Then they took out it belly guts to take to the lab.  The Biologist will test to see what the fish have been eating and make sure that the fish are healthy in the lake.

So after two nights away I is back home.  The sun is perfectly on my bed and I has a lot of sleep to catch up on! I'll try to be around to your bloggies once I get rested.

Post Christmas & Snow, Snow, Snow

I hopes everybody had a wonderful Christmas! I'm still resting up from the festivities but wanted to update you all on my Christmas Holiday and the Snow tortures we are currently experiencing.

First of all I gots a brand new food stand for Christmas! Daddy O made it for me cause my other one was a little too short and we couldn't find one any taller. This one matched better and catches some of my kibble crumbs. Oh and if you want to knows how tall it is, it is 22 1/2 inches.
Also, I gots a new bed that Momma made for me. It has 6 old pillows in it and they come out easy so the cover can be washed.
This wasn't my gift it was Momma's - It's suppose to be ME hugging VADER? I don't thinks so.

Santa also brought me some new toys and treats - I luvs opening the presents.
The bestest part about Christmas was I gots to go to Grammy & Grampy's and spend time wif Diesel and Bambi! Diesel helped me open my gift.

Bambi didn't need help wif his.
Now about all that snow. We are getting lots. The hoomans can't keep up wif the shoveling.
I don't know about this....... shouldn't snow stay outside.... maybe you should shovel the deck?

So I had to take matters into my own paws......

I gots a whole year to gets back on Santa's nice list.... BOL!

Winter Walkies and Whining Momma

We went on a nice walkie on Sunday, how do like my coat? It's one of my birfday gifts from October.

Not too much traffic on this camp road this time of year.

Does this train go to the north pole? I can't wait for Santa!

What? It goes to Puddles' back yard? Never mind then..... BOL.
Something was here befores me....
I guess I'm a little late to figure out what it was. But, it was a fun walkie.
And Momma has been whining cause I guess I gaves her a black eye. See she was pulling on the blanket on the bed and decided to do super fast spinnys before I laid down. Well I guess I bumped her with my head (the big knowledge bump of mine) and she got hurt. Don't worry I am fine, I didn't even feel it. But Momma has been whining about her swollen eye that is now getting black. What do you guys think? It's not my fault right? After all your suppose to sign a waiver when you sign up to get a Great Dane.

This doesn't put me on Santa's naughty list, right? Right?

A shopping Trip

Time to do a little Christmas shopping and I knew exactly where to go:
Hmmm... lets check out the toys - it's gotta squeak.. I need to get presents for lotsa doggies....
I loves Kong toys, let me check the price.... I gots a budget you know.

After a trip to the pet store I found pressies for all the doggie cousins and even some for the kitties. I'd tell you what I got but that would ruin the surprise. Speaking of suprises guess who I got to see after shopping....
Yup, my BFF Diesel!

Let the Bitey Face commence!

And who doesn't love a good game of lazy tug........
After visiting with Diesel there was more shopping to do.... Hooman shopping.... boring..... I do likes the Whoopie Pie store though... Yummers.
The whole town was lit up with these creepy balls... I got enough courage to stand this close to gets my picture taken. There were even peoples in a horse drawn carriage with those big budwieser horsies. Don't worry I made sure to barks at them to tell them to go away, so no picture.
Shopping is absolutely exhuasting..... But I is all done so now I can go back to sleep.
What do you mean I still gots to wrap them.... ugh!

My Big Ice Fishing Adventure

(I'm a sled dog, BOL!)

Last weekend almost all the family came to visit and we went Ice Fishing. I've never been Ice Fishing before and Momma was a little worried about my clumsy self being on the ice. Anyway, she bought me non-slip Paw Wax and put in on my front feet. I was very careful in the morning and didn't run at all. Also, I never fell down - that is a huge accomplishment for me since I am so clumsy still.

Ok, so ice fishing was brand new to me and may be new to some of you doggies out there. Let me see if I can explain.

We went to the pond, but I couldn't drink the water it was hard and cold - they call this ice. I could actually walk on it. It was slippery at first cause it was like 30 degrees (Fahrenheit) outside. I walked really slow and wore my coat.

Dad made these perfect little round holes in the "ice" and the regular pond appeared.
Then he put these sticks in the hole and told me not to touch them.
The next step of ice fishing is to go back to shore and find a nice patch of sun the lay in. I found sticks of my own.

Then you eat hot-doggies. (Kind of like Frankie but not the same...)

Then everyone yells flag and goes back out the sticks in the hole.

The next part is the scariest. Weird floppy smelly toys come out of the hole!!! I wasn't allowed to play with them but dad was. I was able to sniff them and they smelt terrible. Dad put the floppy toys back in the hole. These are eventually called fish.
So then you go back to shore and lay in the sun and eat again, then back out to the holes, repeat, repeat.

It was pretty exciting and a couple hours after we arrived it warmed right up (to like 45 degrees) and the ice was a little mushy on top. I didn't have to wear my coat and I could actually run on the ice a little.

I had a lot of fun. Have any of you doggies ever gone ice-fishing?
