We've been hiking, walking, running playing, splashing and swimming!

Let me start with - Tyson is a crazy swimmer!  He just did it on his own out in the ocean and now we can't stop him - that pup loves swimming and chasing everything you throw to him! I swear he is a lab disguised in an english mastiff body.
Me?  Oh no the Tucker doesn't swim.  I loves splashing and sticking my face under, but my bum is not getting wet.
We've been spending some evenings at the pond.
I took Tyson for his first hike! I was an old pro even wif my arthritis.  We just do hikes that are shorter (like a mile or so) and not as demanding on my knees.  The next day I just rest and I don't even limp.  I carry the bowl and the poop bags in my backpack.
Tyson carries our water. He is a really strong boy now.
I've also taken Tyson on my favorite walkies and some new ones.  Can you see my rainbow I found on this walk?
We've not been around much but we are both doing well.  The hoomans are spending lots of time wif us outside now that the weather is finally good.  We plan to have a very active summer!

A hike and my new work in progress vest

This past weekend I gots to go on my first hike since my knee ouchies back in November.  Momma and Dad wanted to make sure we waited for my cruicate to heal as much as possible.  Basically because the Tucker has two speeds: zero & 100.  I spend most my time at 0, but my hikes are at 100.
We climbed a smaller mountain with very few jumps and steep spots....

Still a nice hike that lasted about 45 min, I was tired afterwards but happy to say that I don't appear sore or limpy at all!  Yippee for healed knees!

Oh and do you likes my new vest?  It is to keep the PUParazzi away.  I gets too much attention and I am working on trusting strangers again (the quick back story is some dude hit me on my face and scared the crap out of me  almost 2 years ago.  I is sometimes scared when men approach me quickly and  I bark and jump at them if they do it).  Momma and Dad get stressy having to watch everything around me so closely all the time, this makes our lives a lot easier!   If you would like more info you can go to http://www.pawsitivedog.com/DogInTrainingVest.html

A hiking trip

A couple weekends ago I went for hiking adventure.
There were some nice views on the way up.

You have to follow the blue marks to know where to go.
It was hot and I was deciding to stay in the shade.

But, then we reached the top.
And we could see very far!
And when we came down I cooled off in the ocean.
Remember not to drink salt water, I always forgets at first, but then I remember.
I love going for hikes, but boy do they make me tired!

View From the Top - Bowl Edition

A hiking we will go - I'm always in the lead.
What a beautiful day now that hurricane Earl is outta here!
I needs a water break - don't forgets to stay hydrated
What the? A pond? We hiked over 400 ft up a mountain to go to a pond??
I'll check it out, it's kinda refreshing

On the way back down I asked Momma and Dad if we could do this trail........
For somes reason they says no... Does it look too steep to you?
Anyway we continued back down....
Remember if yous gotta poop, you gotta pick it up. It's key to responsible doggie behavior....
I enjoys living in Maine......

View From the Top - 2010 Hike 2

Ok, so when we start the hike I'm all Gun ho and go charging up the mountain. Momma whines that I go too fast and the only pictures she can get are of my butt.
The view was terrible because it was all hot and hazy and I couldn't see nothin'. I hiked all the way up there and all I gots to see was trees.

And it was hot! Momma said the humidity was terrible and it must have been at least 80 somethin' out.

What's it say, I can't read it through all the haze!! Oh - 872 feet.

What? I gotsa hike back down? Momma says I'm really slow going down the mountains cause I wasted all my energies getting up it fast. ooops.

Whew, back in the Truck with AC, now I'm a happy puppy!

View From the Top - 2010 Hike 1

My bags are packed with the essentials - Treats, my bowl, poopy pick-up bags, and sunscreen for my nose (which Momma will forget to put on anyway). Don't worry Dad will carry my water, that's too heavy for me.

Off we go!

Pause to take in the pretty view. I'll model in front of it.

Momma got losta picture of my butt since she wasn't as fast as me hiking up the mountain.
See the markers that tell us where to go, they help me not get lost.
Whew, one of multiple water breaks!

TA- DA! I reached the top. - 525 feet.

I'm one happy Dane!

See the pretty view? (It's the stuff behind me for those of you still staring at me, BOL!)

Ok, so I had to go.... then Momma makes me carry my own POOP down the mountain! Don't worry it's double bagged. But eww - Momma was laughin' at me.

I will sleep for the next 4 days.......

Pee.S. Puppy Bakery is now open! Thank goodness - I got a boston creme terrier, and I'll post a picture for all you puppers to drool over. YUM.

Pee S.S. Momma and Dad bought my bubble machine in the toy section at the Christmas tree shop for $4. It takes batteries and makes the big bubbles when Momma pushes the button.
