Update on my Knee

Sorry I has not been around much, Momma has a terrible case of the workies and still probably won't be able to help me blog much  in March.  The workies are the worst.

Today I went to the vet for my booster shots and a checkup.  I has good news!  Mr. Vet is very happy with my progress and wants me to keep doing what I am doing.  So lots of walkies, some running, and some zoomies.
But, Momma says I have to tell you I was naughty.  After Mr. Vet checked my heart and everything I barked and lunged at him (I didn't actually bite him).  Mr. Vet wasn't too concerned he says I was really stressed and he thinks I'm a little protective at times, plus the room is very small.  Not all doggies are friendly wif strangers and I sometimes don't like men.  Momma wants me to tell you all I was naughty because she wants you to know that just like other doggies I sometimes have "issues" cause I get scared. Momma and Dad just usually don't let people pet me if I appear stressy and things are fine. But, you should always ask before you pet a dog you don't know. He went ahead and gave me my shots and then he took me away from Momma and Dad and walked me out back to test my knee movement.

Mr. Vet says my muscle tone is over 10% better than last month and that my gait is fine. When he brought me back Mr. Vet said that I apologized and was wagging my tail wif him out back.  So we parted on good terms and next time I will try to be better.

  1. Tucker,
I know how stressy it can get at the vet and so many weird things going on and having to protect your mom at the same time. You know what? My Raja did not like the vet either and she had to wear a muzzle when she visited which made her even grouchier.

Glad about your knees, dude. I'm trying to stay in shape too.

  2. Tucker, me, too!! The first time I went to the vet I had to have the muzzle and I would NOT let the vet look in my ears and I had to get konked out! The next time I went with my brother Bart and he told me it was OK so yesterday I went all by myself, and I had to get a shot and some x-rays and I was waggin' my tail and smiling the whole time. I didn't even have to have a muzzle!! I just had to get used to being in a new place. You can, too - I'm sure of it.

    Your friend,

  3. We are glad to hear that you are doing better, Tucker. We can understand that you were stressed - no fun having to go to the vet's and having them poke and prod. Plus it sounds like they might have done better by putting you in a bigger room. We are happy you and Mr. Vet man worked things out.

  4. You know, Tucker, my mom's Great Dane used to do the furry same thing with the V-E-T. She would show teefs and GRRRRR and stuffs. The V-E-T would has mom gib him the leash and he would take Gina away from mom and then she woz all like kissy and tail waggy and stuffs (Gina, not mom). The V-E-T sayed Gina just didn't want the vet gibbing mom needles and stuffs and woz telling him stay away from mom. So see, you does not get points off fur that, it be a Great Dane thing. Us shepherds, we has a whole udder set of issues. We is like fine, gib mom the needles, just don't gib them to us, BOL.

  10. Tucker we are so glad you are better. Going to the Vets can be stressy especially with all those strange smells and stuffs. We go to the Vets once a month just to weigh ourselves (our mum can do it herself cause the big scales are in the waiting area) and say hello and mum thinks it will help us relax when we need to go there for serious stuffs. Our brother Brucey hated the Vets something serious that's why mum wants us to like them! No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

  11. Hi Tucker,
First of all, I'm so sorry that I haven't visited you lately but it is all my mom's fault. See, we moved from Manchester, NH, to Dover, NH, (closer to your house, I think)and she had to do a lot of things to get us all settled. So, I understand when mom's have to do lots of work related stuffs for sure.
Thanks to my mom, I had no idea that you had knee problems or that you get stressed at the vet's office until NOW! So, I hope you keep following doctor's orders and get healthier every day!
    Love,
    Daisy

  14. OK. Supposedly my vet is a nice man. He even came to my house for dinner. BUT. He stuck something in my butt once and I never forgot. Really he did. It was AWFUL. I mean, who does that? So now I act all weird around him and I shake like a leaf. And I want to be on momma and I want her hand on my butt. I am reasonable, THEY ARE NOT. And I don't care what treats he tries to offer me. I will not take anything from him. Or the people who work there. IN THAT PLACE. Where they violated my tushi. End of the discussion I am getting all stressed.

  16. Our Mom has had a BAD case of the workies, too. It's awful - maybe we could do some sort of awareness day - you know, to eventually come up with a cure for the workies! ;-) Glad your knee is doing better, and doing worry about the vet - just imagine how HE'D react if someone took HIS temperature that way! :-D (That's what OUR vet says whenever a doggie acts out on him...)

  17. am glad to hear your knee is better Tucker and that the vet thinks you're in good condition overall. I also think it's a very good of you to be honest on your blog about "issues" – I often think that lots of doggie blogs try to only show the nice pretty stuff (my humans thinks it's like dinner parties where people only show the nice side and you never get to really know them) – but sometimes that can give people false expectations. We always try to be very honest on my blog and talk about all my bad habits as well as my good ones but sometimes I think a lot of people are embarrassed or only want to show a good image all the time. But as you say, all doggies have issues about certain things and we are all just normal – none of us are perfect! :-)

    Honey the Great Dane
PS.I know just what you mean about the human who is too busy with work stuff – my human has been so busy lately too, which is why I'm only commenting now! :-) I'm so behind with all my blog friends!

  18. So glad that your knee appears to be on the mend! Vet lunging is a fine sport for all dogs to participate in. Hootie usually does it and he LICKS the vet's face!! I usually lay on my back and let him tickle my belly. BOL. You weren't naughty sweetie. Youz a good boy!!
